This deliciously dry Pinot Gris displays fragrant aromas of pear, white peach, nectarine, apple blossom and lemon curd. The palate is silky with a honeyed entry of nashi pears, apricots and hints of vanilla. This wine is balanced and complex with good minerality and a long finish.
The Japanese word 'Kirameki' signifies the rocks that shimmer alongside the one hectare of sloping Pinot Gris vines at the Northern tip of our vineyard.
Awards
It's elegantly fragrant and enticing on the nose showing honeydew melon, poached pear, rich floral and subtle spice aromas, leading to a wonderfully flavoursome palate delivering excellent fruit weight and persistency. Silky and mouthfilling with delectable flavours. Wine Orbit 2021 (5 Stars)
Delicious now, but also ageworthy, this estate-grown wine was hand-picked and tank-fermented. Pale lemon/green, it is weighty, with concentrated, vibrant peach, pear and spice flavours, a touch of complexity, and a finely balanced, off-dry finish. Winestate Magazine 2021 (4.5 Stars)

Food Match
The strong stone fruit and spicy character allows this wine to match to a wide variety of international foods. Our picks would be moderately spiced Asian food, seafood, and chicken.
Winemaking Notes
The fruit for this 'Kirameki' Pinot Gris was hand-harvested on 15 April 2019 (22 brix) from one hectare of sloping pinot gris vines at the northern tip of our vineyard that sit alongside the shimmering rocks, known as 'Kirameki' in Japanese.
The fruit was whole bunch pressed to tank for cold settling for two days. The juice was then racked and inoculated with selected wine yeasts and fermented in a stainless steel tank to retain the varietal and fruit characteristics. The fermentation was stopped retaining 9.6 grams/Litre of residual sugar.
Tasting Note
Pale straw with golden hues.
Aromatic with pear, white peach, nectarine, apple blossom, lemon curd and complexing notes of beeswax and lanolin.
Silky and honeyed entry with nashi pears, apricots and hints of vanilla. Balanced and complex leading to a refreshing and long finish with minerality and ripe fine phenolics.
