Striking and Seductive Single Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir
Premium fruit parcels were hand-picked and selected by our Winemaker to craft this Single Vineyard wine that is a true representation of our boutique Central Otago vineyard.
This lovely six year old Pinot Noir is medium bodied and complex with fragrant aromas of black fruits and it's starting to show aged characters of earthiness and spice. The palate is well rounded with fine tannins and a lovely lingering finish.
Pair this wine with darker meat dishes including lamb, beef, game dishes, salmon, tuna and peking duck.
Enjoy this wine now or cellar for up to 10 years.
Awards
18.5 POINTS - Joelle Thomson 2020
"A striking and seductive bouquet with aromas of ripe, dark red berry fruits, savoury undertones with bracken and dried thyme, toasty wood and clove baking spices. On the palate - equally palate engaging with flavours that reflect the nose - raspberry and dark berries, dried herbs and French barrel. Tannins are firm, acidity - medium+, a youthful, tense and well made wine with a lengthy finish and medium+ complexity." Cameron Douglas MS (94 Points)

Food Match
Pair this wine with roast lamb or lamb rack for a classic match that never fails to impress. The delicacy of this pinot noir results in an excellent match with stronger fish such as salmon and tuna. The bright powerful berry fruit nature also pairs well with game dishes including duck, rabbit and quail.
Winemaking Notes
The fruit (clone 5, 10/5 & 115) was hand harvested on 2 April and 7 April 2014 and destemmed into two stainless steel tanks before being inoculated with selected wine yeasts to carry out the fermentation. The wine was aged in French oak barriques for 12 months, of which 29% was new oak.
Tasting Note
Dark purple, with purple hues. Lifted black cherry and blackberry fruit aromas on the nose together with floral notes of violets with hints of mocha and smoky cedar. Flavours of black and red cherry show on the palate together with savoury mushroom, spice and leather. A medium bodied, complex wine with ample fine grained tannin and an elegant structure which has a long lingering finish.
